Yixin graduated in 2005 with BSc Aerospace Engineering and Applied Mathematics from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (USA). After 5 years working in the Singapore defense industry, she decided to venture out & pursue her passion in fashion & garment construction early 2011. Since then, she has completed the Diploma in Fashion Technology (Product Design & Development) offered by the Textile & Fashion Industry Training Centre (Singapore), won the Fashionably Sustainable Competition in 2011 organized by Workforce Development Authority, as well as understudied the head tailor at a bespoke menswear tailoring store. She was also a junior buyer at an major online retail company specializing in brand acquisition for womenswear.

Other than completing the Innovative Pattern Cutting for Graduates and Professionals course offered by the Central Saint Martins College, London (UK) in 2012, Yixin's latest adventure has been exploring the Transformational Reconstruction (TR) method under Shingo Sato's tutelage. She has since successfully attained TR Master 2013 certification, TR Super Master 2015 & 2017 accreditation.

Yixin is happily based on the sunny island of Singapore. When she's not busy with teaching or drafting + sampling for independent designers, Yixin continues to explore new ideas, experiment different concepts and create new patterns in her free time.
